SS501’s Kim Hyun-joong & Hwangbo
SS501’s Kim Hyun-joong & Hwangbo were paired up as one of the couples of the popular variety show We Got Married. The two celebrities were a fake married couple from the first season of the show, and their episodes were on the air from May 11th, 2008 to December 14th, 2008, from episode 9 to 38. Kim Hyun-joong and Hwangbo were dubbed as the Lettuce couple or JoongBo couple on the popular MBC variety show. Hyun-joong was 23 years old and Hwangbo was about six years older than him and she was considered his senior when he was cast in the reality show titled We Got Married in 2008. Before joining the variety show, the two of them only knew about each other being celebrities but were not connected in any way. The purpose of the show is to see how two strangers living together under the same roof as a couple can develop their thoughts and feelings considering there was an age gap barrier, by putting themselves in such a situation as a couple. At first, the two were awkward, but as time went by they became closer with each other and developed a good friendship.
Through the show, fans can see how everything was done in their most natural way without a script. It also shows who Hyun-joong and Hwangbo are in reality when it comes to having a relationship. Marco and Son Dam-bi were one of the virtual couples of the popular MBC variety show We Got Married. The two celebrities appeared in the first season of the popular variety show and were known as the “killer couple” or MarBi couple. They were dubbed as the killer couple for their amazing looks. The fake married couple lived together from October 12th, 2008, to February 8th, 2009. Marco and Dam-bi were known as a cross-cultural couple where Marco was born and raised in Argentina and Dam-bi is a Korean, which made their episodes of the show interesting to watch. Through the variety show, fans could see how the two strangers lived together. They both were really hot and had an amazing appearance and they were very compatible and complementary to each other.

Super Junior’s Kangin & Lee Yoon-ji
On December 31st, 2008, a new pair of fake newlyweds was revealed for the first time on the popular variety show We Got Married, and it was no other than a member of the popular boy band Super Junior, Kangin and South Korean actress, Lee Yoon-ji. The celebrity couple was dubbed as the Acorn Jelly couple or KangJi couple. The episodes of the Acorn Jelly Couple were aired from December 21st, 2008, to May 3rd, 2009, from episode 39 to episode 55. On the couple’s first day meeting each other, Kangin said to Lee Yoon-ji, “I am a married man now. And I hope I can be someone who is wise and manly.” Lee Yoon-ji also said to Kangin that he was near to her ideal type. Her ideal type is someone who is big and dignified. She thought that she would get to smile more.
Like other couples, their first meeting was also a little awkward for them but they tried to get to know a little more about each other. Through the variety show, fans could see how the two celebrities interact with each other. Both of them were not afraid to express their thoughts and feelings to each other.
Jeong Hyeong-don & Girls’ Generation’s Kim Taeyeon
Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon is the first SM Entertainment female artist to appear on the popular MBC reality show We Got Married. The leader of Girls’ Generation was paired up with comedian, presenter, and singer Jung Hyung-don. Before becoming Taeyeon’s husband on the reality show, Jung Hyung-don had previously appeared in the early episodes of We Got Married with a Japanese artist who had a career in South Korea, Saori. But after ‘divorcing’ his former fake wife, he came back to the show as a fake married couple with Taeyeon. Fans called this pair the Jelly Pudding couple.
Through the show, fans could watch how the couple builds their relationship. The two celebrities were also dubbed the Beauty and the Beast where Hyung-don is not the idealistic handsome husband, he is rather overweight, loud, and obnoxious.
